Last year, Team CrackerHammer’s entry into the Project Twenty1 Filmmaking Competition, “Immoral Desires”, won the Best Marketing Award. Our efforts to spread the word about one film elevated the entire competition, leading to coverage in major media outlets and a Red Carpet Awards ceremony at the festival which was covered by TV news. This year, I want to share some of our marketing tips, techniques and strategies with all competitors. Use some or all of this information freely to market your own film for this year’s competition. If a few films with strong marketing got us on the radar last year, just imagine what 70 films with strong marketing could do.

Registration is now open for teams wishing to compete in the annual Project Twenty1 Filmmaking Competition. The challenge: create a short film (10 minutes or less in length) entirely during a twenty-one day period in August. Oh, and you must incorporate a secret element that competition organizers won’t release until the competition begins.
