Photoshop Fun!

I launched my MySpace page in 2003 or 2004, and launched a Facebook page in 2005 while back in college at Temple University. I wanted to make my profile stand out a bit, so I took a quick self-portrait photo and used Photoshop to embed my face on a series of pop culture photographs. Some of the images turned out better than others, and my variant of the Mona Lisa (I call it the “Mika Lisa”) is still my favorite. This is not only a fun way to stand out in social networks, it’s also a great way to keep honing those Photoshop skills.

Birthday Cake Time Lapse Video

My daughter’s second birthday was Sunday, and we put together a themed party around her favorite show – “Yo Gabba Gabba”. My wife designed a birthday cake of a three-foot-tall standing Muno, but trouble arose just an hour before the party. Watch the time lapse video I created below to see the attempt and her fantastic recovery. The guests all thought it was delicious!

Don’t short-change yourself by creating a website from a hosting provider’s “template collection”. These sites look as cheap as they are. And if your site is old and static, it’s likely being overlooked by search engines and not reaching potential customers.

I recently watched and reviewed the Spike Jonze film Where The Wild Things Are, and thought I’d hit the other film made from a beloved children’s book that was released in the fall of 2009: Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.
