The 2010 Project Twenty1 Filmmaking Competition begins tonight at 7:00PM, with the reveal of a “secret element” that all of the films must include. That reveals starts the clock ticking on our 21-day production period. Our film has to be completed and turned in by Saturday, August 21 at 7:00PM. Here’s what’s been done since we entered the competition more than two months ago.
I launched my MySpace page in 2003 or 2004, and launched a Facebook page in 2005 while back in college at Temple University. I wanted to make my profile stand out a bit, so I took a quick self-portrait photo and used Photoshop to embed my face on a series of pop culture photographs. Some of the images turned out better than others, and my variant of the Mona Lisa (I call it the “Mika Lisa”) is still my favorite. This is not only a fun way to stand out in social networks, it’s also a great way to keep honing those Photoshop skills.
My first article for the new website Science Fantasy Universe was published a few days ago. Be sure to check out “Futurama Reborn!” and leave a comment on that site to show support!
My daughter’s second birthday was Sunday, and we put together a themed party around her favorite show – “Yo Gabba Gabba”. My wife designed a birthday cake of a three-foot-tall standing Muno, but trouble arose just an hour before the party. Watch the time lapse video I created below to see the attempt and her fantastic recovery. The guests all thought it was delicious!
Don’t short-change yourself by creating a website from a hosting provider’s “template collection”. These sites look as cheap as they are. And if your site is old and static, it’s likely being overlooked by search engines and not reaching potential customers.
